Chelle Destefano is a Deaf multi-disciplinary artist. She works with textiles, performance, installation, sculpture, painting and drawing to explore culture and identity of her Deaf culture. She is currently focused on dance performance using gestural movements with her Auslan language to speak about her Deaf experiences. Chelle’s recent highlights include collaborating with Claire Bridge on a major touring Deaf storytelling project, ‘What I Wish I’d Told You’, and a major solo performance and exhibition.

Chelle has contributed a chapter on bridging Deaf and hearing worlds (with Claire Bridge) for the second edition of The RITP.
