Dr Odette Kelada is a lecturer in the School of Culture and Communication at the University of Melbourne. Odette researches and publishes on race, whiteness and gender in Australian writing and the arts. She is interested in the constructions of nation, body and identity in creative representations and the teaching of racial literacy. Her writing has appeared in the Australian Cultural History Journal, Artlink and the Australian Critical Race and Whiteness Studies Association Journal.
Odette has contributed a chapter on racial literacy (with Dianne Jones and Lilly Brown) for the second edition of The RITP.
