Dr Ruth De Souza FACN is a nurse, writer, community-engaged researcher, creative practitioner, consultant and host of the Birthing and Justice podcast, featuring conversations about birth, racism, and cultural safety to break down the structures built on colonisation. Ruth is a Fellow of The Australian College of Nursing and Honorary Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences – Te Ara Hauora A Pūtaiao at Auckland University of Technology.

Ruth has contributed a chapter on cultural safety for the second edition of The RITP. The original version of this chapter was co-written with Robyn Higgins and published in the first edition of The Relationship is the Project (Brow Books, 2020) – with thanks.
